This piece is a tribute to new beginnings! I wrote this piece for the inaugural concert for the Purple Finch Flute Ensemble in October of 2025, and I took inspiration from various media portraying the start of an adventure; movies, video games, and television. The joyful fanfare moves from the upper voices into a more sinister lower voice in the middle, to evoke a sense of tribulation, but a return to the beginning melody indicates a triumph at the end of the journey.
